The Watercolor art of Wendy Lefkowitz Winet features whimsical views of the beauty around us. Her still life watercolors combine stunning cut flowers, the glory of nature’s bounty and cherished possessions. Wendy’s mastery of color is reflected in the softness of draped cloth or the brilliance of a bird of paradise. Other subjects, including formerly magnificent autos, show an artist’s eye for the beauty of reflected light and effect of age and abandonment.
Wendy relishes the freedom of expression afforded by the medium of Collage. By using textured papers and found objects she explores the realm of abstract art. She enjoys “painting” with paper in her impressionist style of Collage.
The third art medium in Wendy’s repertoire is Monoprinting which produces one of a kind images. The beauty of monoprint is its spontaneity and the combination of printmaking, painting and drawing. Chine Colle adds the element of collage to her monoprints.
Wendy earned a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. She moved to Ventura in 1977 and has since studied with several prominent artists in the community.
Wendy’s accomplishments include:
Signature member of the Gold Coast Watercolor Society at the Buenaventura Art Association
